Go Rams! (just kidding. >sports< ha!)
I was sitting in a cute coffee shop this afternoon, dressed all hipster (i'm cool), and was thinking to myself, "when was the last time I talked about my shenanigans on the internet?" It's been a while- a month to be precise. So i'll catch you all up :)
I moved into college in Mobile!!!!!! I bike to my classes every day and watch the clouds puff on by through the Live Oak branches scattered throughout the campus greens. The sidewalks are only filled with 1600 faces so I can recognize most of them already. As an introvert, I keep to myself most of the time but on rare occasions, I can be found socializing (>GASP!< I know!)! Haha, my cousin goes here so we hang out at the pool and I make him food. I have /some/ other friends! My roommate's a doll and we've never fought. I'm so glad I wasn't put with a scary, mean, or any other person!
I haven't starved yet- still going strong on the Gluten intolerance- but am making a lot of my own food. The calf has a 'gluten solution' line but the food is nasty (food should taste good.) In the past week, I've made PB Nutella cookies, smoked sausage and chicken gumbo (which I'm actually eating now!), Indian Butter Chicken, an omelette, and a flying egg sandwich :) Yummy!
My classes have been great. It's good to have a routine to stick to and fun to go to different classes every day instead of high school's same classes everyday. Mondays are my hardest- I have five classes: Intro to Bible (my favorite), Public Speaking (We frequently discuss Velociraptor safety techniques), Freshman Seminar (Gaaahhh! Waste. Of. Time!!!), Choir (hehehe i loves it), and finally, Intercultural Perspectives in the World Christian Movement (a three hour course, beginning at three in the afternoon -_-). Thankfully, this week had Labor Day on Monday so I did not have to endure that! My Tuesdays and Thursdays are only half filled with Intro to Psychology (Bleh), Intermediate Algebra (Okay), and Choir (hhehehee!!). I can get through this. I will survive. (I tell myself this frequently due to the sheer amount of textbook/bible/study guide homework we receive from Inter. Perspec.- SIX HOURS A WEEEEEKKK)
As you can tell, I love Choir. 'Tis great! I haven't been in a real choir in years (bad directing then I quit for a bit) so I am all the more grateful for the wonderful atmosphere and teaching of Dr. Al Miller, Dean of the CPA here. He so happens to be a good friend of my mother's from back in their college choir so he checks up on me frequently and always says hello! He promised we could all get together to eat gumbo that I can make (I'm allergic to regular gumbo) and hangout at his house! I thought he was extremely kind to me and am glad he wants me to visit his office weekly for a chat!
My bestie, Bet, is still a blessing even though she lives in Montgomery now. We have been sending each other letters via post and loving it. She's so silly and always cheers me up! Here's one of her letters:
Oh muffins. What a weirdo! :)
That's all there is, folks! There isn't anymore!

In other topics, this school is great. Perfect nerd school cause most everyone likes Star Wars, Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica, or LotR. Those that don't aren't worth mentioning (because they probably are here on sports scholarship- Eww, spooorrts!) Haha :)I watch Doctor Who with my friends occasionally and thoroughly enjoy getting to lead my own life. Bed time can be six p.m. or two a.m.!
The TARDIS, as a prime example. |
